How to
Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, Scott Adams
The general them of the
book was that things will not always go your way. You need to adapt and
overcome in order to be successful and it may take seem time. Changing how you
think and how you work will be the best and do not stress about things you
cannot control.
Hit connected me to ENT3003
because it showed me that not every entrepreneurship story is perfect. There is
always failure and one it takes time to get your perfect idea to work. As an entrepreneur
Adams failed many times and he did not make it big until Dilbert when he was
well into his life. Like we learn in the class, you have to revise and keep on
trying.
An assignment I would
create is a goals to systems activity. Where the student takes three goals of theirs
and converts them to systems. Like he explains goals will most likely be disappointing,
but systems give you room to be successful.
My aha moment was how he changed
the idea that making yourself uncomfortable is the best way to learn and
expand. Rather he explains that fund yourself a comfortable place to be in
order to become comfortable and take risks.
Hey Jonny,
ReplyDeleteWe both decided to read the same book. I thought it was very interesting hearing about the life of an entrepreneur. Adams went through many failures but it never discouraged him from continuing on as an entrepreneur and coming up with Dilbert. Just like you said, we have to revise and keep on trying. One assignment from this class that it connected to is the elevator pitch. It wasn't perfect the first or second time, but each time we continue to improve.
